I set out to paint the feeling of it - that particular stillness that lives at the edge of open water

The abundance is the point

like whispered secrets in the breeze

I can’t help but let out a long exhale

structure is most certainly the first step

To be honest

even as it disappears

Golds and blush and cool crystalline hues catch and scatter across the canvas

It moved across the water in fragments

I kept coming back to it

The teal in this work holds two things at once: the depth of living water and the hush of early morning

The work invites viewers to linger in a moment suspended between observation and imagination
